I had a fantastic experience at Oiishi in East Kilbride! As someone with coeliac disease, finding safe and delicious gluten-free options can be tricky — but Oiishi really delivered. I started with the Ikaten with Shichimi Chilli – perfectly cooked fried squid with a flavourful kick from the Japanese 7 spice salt. For my main, I went for the Scotch Fillet Steak – it was tender, beautifully cooked, and packed with flavour. The staff were really friendly and made me feel completely at ease about my dietary requirements, which makes such a difference. It’s great to see a Japanese restaurant take gluten-free dining seriously while still offering a great range of dishes. Highly recommend if you’re gluten free (or not!) and looking for somewhere new to try in the area. I’ll definitely be back!

A perfect summer surprise at Oiishi. A longtime favourite that keeps getting better. My partner and I have been coming to Oiishi for over six years now, and not once have we left disappointed. This time, we decided to try their new summer tasting menu for my birthday, a bit of a change from our usual favourites, and we were pleasantly surprised. The experience was beautifully paced, allowing us to really savour each dish as it arrived. The summer menu gave us the chance to try things we might never have ordered otherwise, and it opened our eyes to some fantastic new flavours. Highlights included the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu beef, the delicate and refreshing ebi summer rolls, and the beautifully presented tuna tartare. Every bite was thoughtful and refined. We ended the evening with a refreshing mango sorbet, which came with a delightful little surprise, a perfect way to round off what was a special birthday date night. If I had to pick a negative, which ultimately wasn’t a negative as it still tasted delicious as it is, was the Chilled Ramen with Volcano sauce didn’t have a lot of spice to it. We were expecting to have a kick of heat but it wasn’t there. The staff were exceptional throughout, attentive, informative, and welcoming. Each dish was introduced with care, and a personal visit from the chef to check on our experience was a warm and much-appreciated gesture. For the quality and variety, the summer menu is excellent value. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a relaxed, high-quality tasting experience that offers both comfort and creativity, we can’t recommend Oiishi enough.

I recently dined at this fantastic Japanese restaurant, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The sushi was absolutely the best I’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight. The tempura was also excellent, perfectly crispy and light. You could really tell they use fresh oil, which made all the difference in the taste and texture. The ambiance of the restaurant was very inviting, with a comfortable and stylish setting that made the meal even more enjoyable. The service was top-notch as well—attentive, friendly, and efficient. Overall, this place is a gem for Japanese cuisine lovers. Highly recommended!

A very good restaurant in EK village. We ordered loads and particularly enjoyed the salmon sashimi and the katsu curry. The dry sake we tried was also really good.

I had a amazing experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere is wonderful, providing the perfect setting for a delightful meal. The sushi is truly exquisite—beautifully prepared and incredibly fresh. The service is excellent, with staff who are both attentive and welcoming. A special mention goes to the sushi chef, who is not only highly skilled but also rather handsome! The sushi is a masterpiece, both in taste and presentation. I highly recommend a visit here—not only will you enjoy superb service and food, but you’ll also get the pleasure of watching a very talented and handsome chef in action. It’s well worth a visit!
